Soe Aung, MD | Director
Soe Aung, MD is a broadly trained sleep medicine specialist. He trained in the sleep medicine fellowship program at Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. It is a world class institution, where he was trained by neurologists, pulmonologists, pediatricians, otolaryngologists, and sleep psychologists. He is certified in sleep medicine both by the American Board of Sleep Medicine and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Additionally, he is a neurologist, and trained at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina. Prior to this, he completed an internship in internal medicine at Abington Memorial Hospital, Abington, PA, and a pediatric residency in the United Kingdom. He moved to Austin a few years ago and he and his family have fallen in love with the city. Dr. Aung treats a full range of sleep disorders in patients of all ages.
Pamela Howard, MD | Staff
Pamela Howard, MD is a broadly trained neurologist and specialist. She first fell in love with Austin during her undergraduate years at the University of Texas. She pursued her medical education and residency training at UT Medical School-Houston, which is an integral part of the world renowned Health Science Center in Houston. Her training continued in North Carolina, where she completed a neuromuscular disorder/electromyography fellowship at Wake-Forest University. She then spent 8 years in private practice in Hickory, NC, a small town in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. During that time she attained Board certification in Sleep Medicine. She returned to Austin, the city that she considers the best city in Texas in 1996. She enjoys outdoor activities, reading, yoga, and spoiling her two dogs.
Carol LaRue, DMD | Staff
Carol LaRue, DMD, is a general dentist who devotes her profession to dental sleep medicine and dental migrane medicine. Dr. Aung diagnosed her with sleep apnea and she benefits from dental appliances for sleep apnea treament as an alternative to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). Her interests in this field are both personal and professional. Dr. LaRue graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, Alton, Illinois in 1987 and completed a general dentistry residency from the US Army Medical Department in 1988. After completing her military service in 1993, she has worked and lived with her family in Austin, Texas. Dr. LaRue is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the Austin Woman's Dental Association.
